Postdoctoral position in quantum simulation and trapped-ion physics
Sandia National Labs (Livermore, California) is seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee specializing in the theory of quantum computing and simulation, particularly in atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) implementations of quantum technologies. The successful candidate will be part of a team developing new quantum computing and simulation protocols and algorithms. There will be opportunities to collaborate with experimentalists and theorists at Univ. of California, Berkeley as part of the project.
A background in quantum computing and/or AMO theory is required. Previous exposure to machine learning, data science, and associated fields is a significant advantage. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate technical leadership and publish outstanding new developments in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The ability to interact and collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues is a strong advantage in this position.
